Planetary Transition plays a significant role in the prediction and analysis of a horoscope. In a horoscope, planetary positions will remain fixed in their respective longitudes. The planetary positions continues to be fixed but practically there is no stoppage to the planetary movements. All planets have different time period to move from one sign to another. This movement gives rise to the stimulation of radioactive disintegration which produces psycho physical changes in character of an individual and disposition.

While calculating the Main period(Dasha) and sub period (Antardasha) of a chart, due importance should be given to the Planetary Transition. This further clarifies the effect of Planetary period (Dasha), sub period (Antardashas) and sub- sub period (Bhuktis) in that period. Since, Moon is the fastest moving planets, hence for Transition results  Moon oriented chart (Chandra Kundli) is considered to be more prominent.

The Sun is considered to be beneficial when Sun Planetary transition is in 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th house from the Moon sign. Although, the Sun is beneficial in 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th house from Moon sign but if any planet except Saturn  is placed in the 7th house from the transit Sun, the benefic effects of the Sun are lost to a great extent.

The Moon is considered to be beneficial when Moon Planetary Transition on 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 10th and 11th  from its original position in the horoscope. But, the benefic results are diminished when any planet except mercury transits in 5th, 9th, 12th, 2nd, 4th and 8th house from transit moon respectively.

Mars is benefic in Mars Planetary Transition in  3rd, 6th and 11th house from Moon in horoscope but the beneficial results are lost if any planet transits in 12th, 9th and 5th house from Transit Mars.

Mercury is considered to be beneficial when Mercury Planetary Transition is through 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th and 11th house from Moon sign in horoscope. But, it should be noted that if any planetary  transition is in the 5th, 3rd, 9th, 1st, 8th and 12th house respectively from transiting Mercury.

Jupiter is considered beneficial when Jupiter Planetary transition is in 2nd, 5th, 7th and 9th house from the Moon sign provided no planet transits 12th, 4th, 3rd, 10th and 8th house from the transit Jupiter.

Venus will be beneficial if Venus Planetary transition in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 8th, 9th, 11th and 12th house from Moon in the horoscope. But, there should be no planet transiting in 8th, 7th, 1st, 10th , 9th, 5th, 11th, 3rd and 6th house from the transiting Venus.

Saturn’s Planetary transition is benefic in 3rd, 6th and 11th house from the Moon sign in the horoscope. But, the transit of any other planet transiting in 12th, 9th and 5th respectively from the transiting Saturn reduces the good results of Saturn.

Taking Planetary Transition factors into consideration and analyzing the period  and sub period of horoscope we can find out more accurate results of the current period.
